  • for MONDAY November 29
    -- annotated bibliography: bring to class a list of at least five sources you have consulted as research on your cultural figure for Paper #3. Only one can be a website; the rest must be journals, magazines, and/or books. For each entry, include the following information, in this order:
    author and publication information in MLA style for a Works Cited entry (see notes from class and the Holt Handbook)
    a one-paragraph summary of that sources' information, or of the information you used
    Only one copy, to turn in to me.

    -- works cited page: bring a copy of your works cited page to turn in to me. Double check your information and formatting by using the Holt Handbook pages on MLA style for works cited.

    -- Afternoon conferences: if you signed up for a conference time for today, be sure to show up on time. Each conference lasts only ten minutes so come prepared and ready to discuss your paper.

    -- introductions due: using the Holt Handbook section on introductions, bring in three different versions of an introduction for Paper #3. Make sure that each version uses a different strategy.
    -- we'll work on revising your rough draft of Paper #3
    -- Afternoon conferences: if you signed up for a conference time for today, be sure to show up on time. Each conference lasts only ten minutes so come prepared and ready to discuss your paper.

    -- conclusions due: using the Holt Handbook section on conclusions, bring in three different versions of a conclusion for Paper #3. Make sure that each version uses a different strategy.

    -- FINAL EXAM, 3:15-5:15 p.m., room TBA
    Both my sections of 101 take the exam at the same time. You must take this exam -- no late make-ups. If for whatever reason you need to take the exam early, you must notify me at least two weeks in advance so that I can arrange accomodations.
