»»WEEK 12 (11/15-11/19/04)--if you haven't started researching your cultural figure yet, start doing so using the library resources we were introduced to last week
for MONDAY November 15
-- Dr. Melczarek spent the week-end doing a cloaccal two-step with a stomach virus. Bring your Holt Handbook to class, and we'll have grammar practice for today.
for WEDNESDAY November 17
Type out and bring to class your tentative thesis; bring at
least 3 copies (one for me, two for your group). Include:
-- your thesis (naming your chosen cultural figure, and stating why s/he is important -- see all four essay we read for this section for examples)
-- three specific areas of evidence that you plan to expand on, to explain how/why your chosen figure is of cultural importance
-- any research you've done into the history of your figure
In your new and final groups for the semester, look through each other's theses and help with any suggestions you have on either subject matter or approach.
